EXPAT ALLIANCE

The Anglo-Portuguese Alliance is one of the oldest military alliances that is still in force by political bilateral agreement. It was established by the Treaty of Windsor in 1386, between the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Portugal, though the countries were previously allied via the Anglo-Portuguese Treaty of 1373.

Historically, the later, modern designated Portuguese Republic and United Kingdom, have never waged war against each other nor have they participated in wars on opposite sides as independent states since the signing of the Treaty of Windsor.

Recognising this historic link, the club are considering an Expats Club, and would welcome feedback from our existing fan base, we want your views and we will be listening.

Firstly, we recognise the strong tradition of the fishing community in the region and the dedication to supporting Quarteirense Futebol and indeed the wider community, who turn up to populate the terraces each match.

Our idea is not to create division amongst our supporters but have a plan to increase footfall through the gate. More revenue for the Club will permit more investment in both infrastructure and the playing side. With this strategy our route to progression in the league should be enhanced.

The beautiful Algarve has for decades relied upon tourism and indeed settlement of Expats to supplement its economy. In Quarteirense Futebol we have an English owned club, with a firm vision for success, that should appeal to any football loving Expats living in the region, so we would like to see them and really welcome them to our terraces.

If we proceed with current fan support, we propose an initial deal, paralleling the current fan offer, of a season ticket purchase including the much-loved Wolf Card, with all the benefits provided by local businesses.
